What is IDAS Full Form ? (updated 2023)

IDAS Full form is Indian Defence Accounts Service and it is a Group A post of UPSC. This IDAS aspiring candidates are need to qualify the UPSC exam to join . The Indian Defence Accounts service ( IDAS ) officers are recruited to handle all the finance and accounts related works of the Defence wing. IDAS Exam Eligibility Criteria: (Update 2023)

From IDAS Full form, it is clear that IDAS is a job in the defence wing . The candidates must have good physical condition along with good knowledge. Some of the eligibility requirements of IDAS services are given below;

• The candidates must have completed Bachelors Degree from any recognised universities.
• He/She must have a minimum 50% marks in aggregate in Bachelors Degree course.
• Candidates must go through the Union Public Service Commission ( UPSC) exams.
• After successfully qualifying the UPSC exam candidates are to be chosen for Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) according to their rank .

Functions of Indian Defence Account Service ( IDAS full form- UPSC ):

IDAS Full Form- India Defence Account Service is a group A post in the Defence wing. Basically the IDAS officers are responsible to carry out the works related the Accounts, Canteens, Financial advice to the defence wings, internal Payments of these wings and all the finance related works.

After Selection in IDAS, the officials may appoint the selected candidates in other ministries or officials or national bodies. Selected students also appointed in abroad by the defence ministry.

• Army
• Navy
• Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)
• Border Security Force (BSF)
• Ordnance Factories
• Industrial Securities
• Highway Authority
• Other Ministries

IDAS Training Centres :

The qualified candidates who are joined to Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS  Full form )department go through a rigorous training. One of the popular training centre is Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy located at Mussoorie. The training is similar to India Civil Service   training.

IDAS Officers Salary :

The Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS full form- UPSC)  officers are the class-1 Group-A officers. They are appointed after qualifying the Union Public service commission exam. So IDAS Officers Salary is similar to Indian Administration Service (IAS) Officers salary.
