What is SSP Full Form ? (Updated 2023)

SSP Full Form is Senior Superintendent of Police and these are the highest authority in the district of a state. These districts basically belongs to the Urban area or highly dense population. SSP has the maximum power to control the law and order of their region with in this district. SSP or Senior Superintendent of Police works under an Indian Police Service Officer (IPS ) . SSP exam syllabus, SSP Eligibility and Role are given below;

Role of SSP- Senior Superintendent Officers :

The SSP officers are also appointed at the danger areas like naxal affected areas, hilly areas , most conflicted riot areas . Their extreme work is to control these conflicts or riots with in their jurisdiction that belongs to the district in which they are appointed.

As per SSP full form in police it is clear that SSP officers are the highest authority of that district in law and order. Eligibility Criteria to become an SSP Officer ? (Updated 2023)

The candidates who are willing to become an SSP officer must have completed graduation from any recognised university. They must be have good physical condition.

  • Aspiring candidates must completed a Bachelor degree in any discipline from any recognised universities.
  • Male Candidates must have height more than 165 centimetres
  • Female candidates must have height more than 150 centimetres
  • The chest size for male aspiring candidates must have more than 50 centimetres
  • Candidates must have an Indian citizen
  • The age of the students must be in between 21 years to 32 years for general candidates.
  • Age relaxation for the OBC, SC, ST as per government guidelines.

SSP Exam Syllabus and Pattern: (Updated 2023)

SSP Full form – Senior Superintendent of Police. It is a class -1 post and SSP exam syllabus is same as the IAS OR IPS exam syllabus . First you have to know that to become an SSP officer you have to qualify the UPSC Exams conducted by union public service commission. This UPSC exam is conducting each year.

Basically the SSP exam syllabus (UPSC ) has 3 important steps in exam pattern

  1. Preliminary Stage
  2. Main Exam
  3. Interview Stage

The candidates must have to clear this UPSC exam so that they can become an IPS Officer. After joining as an IPS officer the candidates then promoted to the next higher level post that is called as SSP post . As SSP post has no direct requirement so there is no particular SSP Exam syllabus , the Senior Superintendent of Police officers are chosen from these IPS officers on seniority basis.
